Whether you are trying to protect configuration ports on remote equipment or control access to your private network, the StarComm 3342S family of security modems is the right solution. With the wide range of features and options available in the 3342S family, you can select from economical solutions for basic security requirements or powerful feature sets for complex security issues:

PASSWORD/CALLER ID PROTECTION - Models capable of storing as many as 400 passwords or Caller ID keys are available. Protection features of the 3342S may be configured to operate either with or without a password prompt. Operating without a password prompt makes it more difficult for intruders to understand system operation and access requirements. The Caller ID feature requires that a caller's telephone number be present in the modem's database. Non-registered numbers will not be answered.
CLOSED USER GROUPS - Built in challenge response algorithms may be enabled to create closed user groups of StarComm security modems.
AUDIT TRAIL WITH PRECISION TIMEKEEPING - With the audit trail facilities of the 33,42S, there is never a question about who has gained access or who has tried to gain access to your installation. All attempts to access the 3342S are stored in a nonvolatile audit trail along with the date and time.
REMOTE CONFIGURATION - The remote configuration facilities of the 3342S allow you to remotely maintain passwords, review the audit trail or modify any parameter of the device. Additional configuration commands allow you to select DTE bit rate, character length and parity. Remote configuration access may be restricted to specific passwords.
FLEXIBLE PACKAGE AND POWER OPTIONS - The 3342S family is available in both standalone and rack mount configurations. All models operate on either AC or DC power.
OPTIONAL DEVICE MANAGEMENT SOFTWARE - jump to software manual - Automates audit trail data collection and simplifies password/Caller ID management for large, distributed networks.
